Rebalancing your hormones
A food first approach to regaining & supporting your health
Exhausted? Poor sleep? Weight gain? Anxious, angry, depressed?
All too often women experience these symptoms and put up with them because they think its normal because they are getting older, or very busy. It is not normal to feel this way and so it is important to establish why there is a hormonal imbalance and what can be done to re-establish the equilibrium.
The majority of hormonal imbalances I help people with are to do with insulin resistance (poor sugar handling), imbalances in sex hormones (such as high oestrogen and low progesterone), and under active thyroid function.
Symptoms of hormonal imbalance include:
- Sugar or salt cravings
- Weight gain
- Pain or cramping mid-cycle
- Irregular periods
- Painful or heavy periods
- Low mood or depression
- Headaches or migraines
- Fluid retention
- PCOS
- Endometriosis
- Fibroids
- Night sweats
- Insomnia
When supporting clients with functional hormonal disorders, I assess the body as a whole to include a complete review of a patients health current and past, diet, environment and lifestyle. I aim to pick up on the root cause by using diagnostics that include blood chemistries, Lifecode GX Nutrigenomic panels and gut microbiome analysis. My goal is to identify and address the triggers and underlying causes of your health problems rather than only working on your symptoms.
